America: History and Life with Full Text

Description: 

The database indexes over 1,700 journals published worldwide, including state historical society journals. In addition to articles, 6,000 citations of book and media reviews and abstracts of dissertations are included. Also included in the electronic database are CLIO Notes, a research guide that has concise overviews of 22 major historical periods designed to help identify major issues and events; detailed chronologies to give context to those issues and events; and suggestions for papers and class discussions.

Scholars GeoPortal

Description: 

Scholars GeoPortal is a geospatial data discovery tool that allows Ontario’s university students and researchers to enrich their teaching and research by engaging with OCUL’s growing collection of geospatial data. The portal offers search, preview, query, download and sharing functionality for datasets licensed by Ontario university libraries, covering such topics as land use, transportation networks, census boundaries, geology, soils, points of interest (such as healthcare facilities, schools, and airports), air photos, and more. SGeoPortal’s collections currently include data from Statistics Canada (through the Data Liberation Initiative), Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (through the Ontario Geospatial Data Exchange), and DMTI Spatial Inc. Data from these providers is continually being added to the portal.

Pais International and Archive

Description: 

The PAIS International database contains references to more than 553,300 journal articles, books, government documents, statistical directories, grey literature, research reports, conference reports, publications of international agencies, microfiche, Internet material, and more. It includes publications from over 120 countries throughout the world. In addition to English, some of the indexed materials are published in French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.The PAIS Archive database comprises a retrospective conversion of the PAIS Annual Cumulated Bulletin, Volumes 1-62, published 1915-1976. At completion of this conversion, the PAIS Archive contains over 1.23 million records. It contains references to monographs, periodical articles, notes and announcements, and analytics.
