AU Students

The following applies to all full-time and part-time students

1. All students must be currently enrolled in the current academic session at Algoma University  and in possession of a student identification card with the appropriate validation.

2. All students must present their student cards for all library transactions.

3. Students may borrow from the general collection for a 21 day period.

4. Students may have loans of books renewed for an additional 21 day period as long as:

a. the books have not been requested by another library user;

b. the loans have not been renewed before (only one renewal is permitted), and;

c. the books are not overdue.

5. Students may renew books over the phone (705-949-2101), at the Circulation Desk or through the Library Catalogue as long as none of the above conditions apply.

6. Students may borrow materials in the reserve reading collection for the length of time specified by the instructor.

7. Students with library debts outstanding will be identified on the Library Delinquent List (see Fines and Holds for more information).

Students whose names appear on the Library Delinquent List


1. Willl have their borrowing privileges suspended until all outstanding library debts are paid.


2. Will not receive their university transcripts, nor will they be permitted to register for courses until all outstanding library debts (e.g., fines, charges for lost books, interlibrary loan costs) have been paid.


3. Upon the settlement of all library debts, borrowing privileges will be restored and the Registrar's office will be notified.
