Self-Serve Inter-Library Loan Requests via RACER
The Arthur A. Wishart Library would like to announce that self-serve inter-library loan requesting is now available here at Algoma University via RACER (which stands for Rapid Access to Collections by Electronic Requesting).
The system allows library card holders from Ontario university libraries to search across multiple catalogues and place an inter-library loan (ILL) request. RACER also helps inter-library loan staff manage loan and borrowing requests by automating ordering procedures and communication with users.
RACER is a service of Scholars Portal, funded by the Ontario Council of University Libraries (including Algoma University).
To use this service, please use the link below, or click on "Inter Library Loan" under the "Services" section on the library homepage. On the page you will find instructions for registering with the system as well as an FAQ concerning RACER and inter-library loans in general click here.
RACER accounts are available to Algoma faculty members, students, staff and registered readers with a valid library card. Guest users can search the Ontario university library catalogues in RACER, but not place requests
Users who wish to have or need Library staff assistance in making inter-library loan requests may continue to do so by contacting Anne Beaupré, Resource Sharing Technician 705-949-2101 x4615/4610 at the circulation desk. You may also email her via the Library’s contact page. Please select “Inter-Library Loan” on the contact form.
You may also find the Library’s Inter-Library Loan Policy here.
If you have any question, please do not hesitate Anne or me.
